Artist center Caravans\u00e9rail and artch – art contemporain \u00e9mergent share a particular interest in the practices of emerging artists, who are central to the mandates of both organizations. For this edition of Tendresse!, Caravans\u00e9rail welcomes artch, which in turn invites artist Ange Houtin to present a performance as part of the festival.<\/p>\n

Ange Houtin’s practice appropriates the mechanisms of \u201cscheming\u201d to confront the power relations inherent in our contemporary capitalist society. A graduate of the BFA program in visual and media arts (UQAM, 2024), Ange Houtin creates relational devices that serve as platforms for exchange and detour, revealing the flaws in established systems. The public is introduced to fraudulent knowledge that questions our tacit social contracts. In these spaces of exchange, the public becomes an accomplice in a collective experimentation that deliberately blurs the boundaries between the licit and the illicit.<\/p>\n
