Learning to Pick Locks: This is the surprising proposal of Ange Houtin’s workshop. The artist presents this activity as a riddle or puzzle, aiming to offer the audience new perspectives on learning. Beyond the technique, this workshop seeks to provoke reflections on the morality of theft and societal issues. Houtin, whose artistic practice explores the inherent tensions of everyday objects related to state, economic, and political institutions, aims to spark discussions that will inform her creative process. Through this exercise, the artist also questions what lies beyond her control, using “shenanigans” as artistic fuel. The workshop thus becomes a space for dialogue and exploration of moral and social boundaries.
