The Reconstructed Fruit
As a continuation of Amaralina Ramalho-Alvarez’ exhibition, discover embroidery on fruit peels. This meditative practice transforms embroidery into an act of repair, paying tribute to fruits and producers while creating poetic tension with the material’s fragility.
We will work with lemon peels, an accessible material integrated into our daily consumption. Participants can trace patterns or assemble pieces to symbolically reconstruct the fruit. Homemade lemonade will be shared.
This moment of slowing down opens space for friendly discussion about the agricultural and colonial history of tropical fruits. Each participant will receive a booklet including:
- A historico-poetic text on tropical fruit agriculture
- Diagrams of embroidery stitches covered
- Space for personal notes and sketches
This activity will take place in French.
As places are limited, registration is required.
