What if your studio got a makeover?
From October 8 to October 20, 2026, 9:00 a.m.
artch – art contemporain émergent is teaming up with IKEA Canada to offer one artist from the community a makeover for their studio. The #artchxIKEA contest aims to highlight the unique routines and living environments of artists and to meet their real layout and design needs. A studio that is too small, a multi-purpose space, or a creative area in need of a redesign: all types of studios are welcome!
The Prize
The winning artist will have their studio redesigned by IKEA Canada, valued at approximately $3,000 (around $2,500 in furniture and $500 for planning, site visit, and other fees). The prize includes:
- An initial studio visit and space measurement by the IKEA team;
- Identification of your specific needs by IKEA’s design team;
- A 3D plan of your future space, including one to two rounds of revisions;
- Furnishing and delivery of the furniture;
- Installation of all products by IKEA.
Your existing furniture may be integrated into the design plan, at IKEA’s discretion. The makeover will be carried out over the year following the festival: the project will not necessarily be completed immediately after the event.
