Ange Houtin x artch x Tendresse!
Artist center Caravansérail and artch – art contemporain émergent share a particular interest in the practices of emerging artists, who are central to the mandates of both organizations. For this edition of Tendresse!, Caravansérail welcomes artch, which in turn invites artist Ange Houtin to present a performance as part of the festival.
Ange Houtin’s practice appropriates the mechanisms of “scheming” to confront the power relations inherent in our contemporary capitalist society. Through his immersive installations and performative interventions, the artist transforms subversive stratagems into gestures that confront the power relations of our contemporary capitalist society.

Ange Houtin
A graduate of the BFA program in visual and media arts (UQAM, 2024), Ange Houtin creates relational devices that serve as platforms for exchange and detour, revealing the flaws in established systems. The public is introduced to fraudulent knowledge that questions our tacit social contracts. In these spaces of exchange, the public becomes an accomplice in a collective experimentation that deliberately blurs the boundaries between the licit and the illicit.
