ARTCH is looking for several technical assistants for the exhibition and production who want to learn about the organization of artistic cultural events. The trainee will be required to work in a team with professional technicians to perform multiple tasks during the mounting of the exhibition. Mandatory training specific to the artch exhibition context and job responsibilities will be offered on September 4th, 2023.

Presentation
Artch’s mission is to support emerging artists in their first stages of professionalization. Like an incubator, each year Artch identifies, trains, finances, mentors and exhibits a cohort of artists at the start of their careers. An exhibition in September in downtown Tio’tia:ke / Montreal, which over the past 5 years has become a new rendez-vous for art lovers, visual arts professionals and the general public. The public space thus becomes a veritable platform for the dissemination of emerging visual artists. Artch is a platform for exchange whose objectives are to propel emerging artists by offering them training and putting them in touch with the Montreal visual arts community. The project also aims to attract new collectors and introduce the general public to contemporary art. All with a view to perpetuating the artistic ecosystem in Montreal.

Job description
- Layout of exhibition spaces (5-6th September)
- Lighting installation aid (5-6th September)
- Vinyl installation and signage installation (5-6th September)
- Assistance with the exhibition of works of artists (5-6th September)
- Installation of furniture on site (5-6th September)
- Managing the artwork packing station, production office, inventory, and shop space during the event (September 7-10th)
- Exhibition disassembly assistance (10 September evening)
- All other duties related.
Qualifications required
- Autonomy, sense of responsibility, initiative, and team spirit;
- Physical fitness, interpersonal skills, curiosity, and attention to detail;
- Comfortable with manual work.
