Performance’s description:
Les douches solaires is a series of performances that develops in several iterations. Through repetition and recurrence, the artist seeks to explore the creative possibilities of the same object, the solar shower, and to achieve a diversity of actions. Without being announced in advance, each iteration will take place in Dorchester Square following an instinctive desire; no predefined score, but a total freedom to act in response to a state of mind, an impulse, a desire or a momentary idea.

After a degree in design and applied arts in France, Inès Barthelet chose to leave this field and devote herself to visual arts after finishing a DEC in the same field in 2018. Inès Barthelet lives and works in Tio’tia:ke (Montreal). She is currently doing a Bachelor’s degree in visual and media arts at UQAM. Working primarily with performance art in outdoor environments, Barthelet lived in Switzerland for a year where she immersed herself in diverse spaces, experiencing the urban and natural landscapes that the country has to offer. In Switzerland, she participated in a performance art workshop provided by Anne Rochat, and has also performed at Act festival, in Lausanne (2021). She draws contracts for the artist center Diagonale (Montreal) as an assistant in research and development.
