Textured metamorphoses

Drawing on the works of Scorli, Majorie Labrèque-Lepage, Laurent Viau-Lapointe and Janna Elizbarova, this workshop invites children (ages 6 to 12) to explore the concepts of hybridity, transformation, renewal, assemblage, and creation. A brief introductory activity will allow participants to observe how artists transform shapes, materials, and objects to create new realities. Children will then be invited to create their own fabric avatar by assembling scraps of secondhand fabric. By transforming and combining these existing materials, they will be able to bring to life a unique character—one that reflects themselves or is entirely imaginary.
