Who are we?
artch is a non-profit organization based in Tio’tià:ke / Mooniyang / Montreal whose mission is to identify, support, train, and promote emerging contemporary artists in Quebec, while developing a supportive community.
Although several projects revolve around artch, our festival is the event at the heart of our system. It is through this festival that our jury selects a new cohort of emerging artists to promote each year.
To support and prepare them, selected artists are offered a grant and high-level training aimed at propelling their artistic careers.
They then present their work in the heart of Montreal. In addition to offering a variety of workshops, conferences, and mediation, this public event allows us to democratize contemporary art and raise awareness about purchasing artwork.
In parallel with this major event, artch maintains its community and promotes the work of artists from previous cohorts through the creation of numerous exhibitions, curatorial opportunities, and partnerships with organizations in the cultural, artistic, and business worlds.
Existing
artch has helped more than 165 emerging artists launch their careers through training provided by specialists, enabling them to become entrepreneurs in their art. This mentoring program provides guidance on topics such as copyright, different art markets, financing artistic projects, communications, networking, and much more.
Radiating
The artch emerging art festival is an event that allows up-and-coming artists to introduce themselves and take root in the Quebec arts scene, then offers them the chance to flourish without limits through a range of related and varied projects at the local, regional, national, and international levels.
Emerging
With the support of several partners, artch has organized more than forty events, exhibitions, and activities. We are committed to creating these collaborations in order to promote the work of our artists in different venues and contexts, as well as to support the evolution of their artistic practices.
